There are several books - try a search on Amazon or similar website.

 

There have been a handful of attempts at a print magazine but not long lived --- yet.

I was glancing though The Complete Idiot's Guide to Geocaching the last time I was in the book store. Gave a great overview and worth a look. As far as magazines none that I know of. Might want to hop onto Twitter and do a search for Geocaching and see what topics come up.

I bought and read The Complete Idiot's Guide to Geocaching 2nd Edition when I started geocaching. I found it very useful though a little to GPS centric. I'd have liked more about making and hiding caches as well as photographic examples of all five levels of Difficulties and Terrains.

Yes, there is a Geocaching magazine. It is glossy, has color pages and photos and is doing just fine. It is called FTF Geocaching. http://www.ftfgeocacher.com/ftfsubDOM.html I subscribe to it and enjoy every issue.
