Camoflauging My Ammo Cans

Just slap a geocaching sticker on it or write on it with a black permanent marker.

No, I'm using a nice stencil, but what color should the text be?

Depends on the colour of the ammo can. I assume it is green. Beige works well. It's easily readable, but at the same time it is 'earthy', and will still blend in with it's surroundings. Black would also work ok if the ammo can isn't too dark.

I usually cammo paint with ultra flat green, brown, and black. I make sure that there is an area of green and brown large enough for the stencil and use the black for the lettering. I want it to be obvious when you see it, but not stand out before.

For the perfect camo - go with army green.

 

 

 

Black is pretty standard though.

I usually use black. I've seen people go through the trouble of a nice camo job, then use white or blue paint for the lettering. I don't get that.

The stickers don't stay stuck for long. A stencil makes a much nicer marker.

 

On my two most recent ones, I cammo painted the cans very nicely, then stenciled on the bottom in gold paint. Its kind of a fun, somewhat classy touch (IMO), and actually, the gold blends a lot better than you might think.
