wolf9545
While I was watching TWIT, TWIT.tv, they were talking about software you would put on your phone and then you can track someone live on a map. Website = glympse They were using it to track one of their employees driving to SXSW. It seems cool, I don't have a phone that would work with their software so I couldn't test it. What I am thinking of that before you go geocaching you would tell someone to go to the website and they can track where you went. That way if you don't drive back they can get an idea on where you were last. At least that is what I was thinking that you could do with the software and geocaching. Just posting my 2 cents on this software. Quote Link to comment
Semper Questio
I like it! And I'm sure MrsSQ will too. It could really help her with worrying about me when I'm on my commute or out on the trail. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
dfx
Isn't that the same as Google Latitude? Quote Link to comment
Semper Questio
Isn't that the same as Google Latitude? Yeah, it seems pretty similar, but I never really liked Latitude. Seems like overkill for what we need. Edit for a little more clarity. Edited March 10, 2011 by Semper Questio Quote Link to comment
northernpenguin
It is different from Latitude in that it is not meant for full tine tracking. Latitude you add friends, start up the app and that list can see you whenever. Glympse is more for tracking specific outings to specific people. I can send you a link, without having to add you as a friend and the tracking ability stops after a time period or I arrive at the destination. Tomorrow you can't see where I go, unless I send you a new invite for that trip Handy for sharing where you are without committing to a location sharing relationship Quote Link to comment
