TomTom XL 340M Loading Caches

I have a Tomtom Go300 and a Tomtom XL2

With GSAK I use the Tomtom.gsk macro by Big Wolf and send or copy the OV2 and bmp files into the map folder on Tomtom.

The icons show on the map.

You can navigate to the cache -or as close as you can 'on the road'

I can have the Tomtom set to give a proximity warning if I'm near a cache. (Set for 1 Mile away!)

Some Tomtom's won't give the proximity warning -Tomtom removed it, but are bringing it back slowly!

I have the macro set to show the cache name as GSAK smart name, as it is shown on my GPS!

So no matter what you have your veiw set up you will see the caches? I like to drive and if I see one coming up to go to it and then use my handheld for the find.

Thanks

As long as you have the POI enabled for your custom POI, they show up on both 2D and 3D view, and Map Browse - just like any other POI.

I keep 4 sets of POI files on my TomTom for caching. One for my own caches, one for caches I've found that are still active, one for archived caches that I've found, and one for caches yet unfound. Different icon for each. The ones below are sized and typed for use on a TomTom if you want to steal them. When you create your custom POI file with GSAK and export the *.ov2, you just need a *.bmp of the exact same name to accompany the *.ov2 to have the icon. Stick both the *.ov2 and *.bmp in your North America map folder. Again, don't forget to turn them on as a visible POI category, just as you would any other.
