+Mental Ellert-ness
I'm trying to find out how to find out the PR number for myself or someone else that completes the following: http://coord.info/PR#### Thanks Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Hover your cursor over your name here in the forum (or anybody ele's name) and look at the link in your browser. Quote Link to comment
+Mental Ellert-ness
Hover your cursor over your name here in the forum (or anybody ele's name) and look at the link in your browser. Tried that and get a number, not a mix of letters and numbers. And it's not showing me in the format coord.ino/PR####. I entered the number that showed up at the end of the show user link for you starbrand and I got someone wayyy different. Quote Link to comment
+Too Tall John
Your number is 3285950. As was said, it shows up in the address bar on the bottom of your browser window when you hover over the name link in the forums. When I try entering it into the coord.info/pr URL, it seems to get stuck on a "Redirecting..." screen. Am I missing something in the formatting of it? Is this a feature that actually exists? I've never heard of linking to a profile using coord.info. . . Edit: Ahha! I found the formatting in a notification email. The alpha-numeric set you are looking for has nothing to do with the number you get when hoovering. . . Edited September 14, 2010 by Too Tall John Quote Link to comment
+Mental Ellert-ness
If you look at the email notifications you get for new cache placements, the reviewer that publishes the cache, the link to his profile is with a link like I had above, with a mix of letters and numbers. Much like a GC### except it has PR instead. Quote Link to comment

+Markwell
Cool - I'm http://coord.info/PR158E My actual user number is 5518, but I used GeoCalc as if it were a cache number, and it gave me 158E. Then I just tested http://coord.info/PR158E and it took me to my profile page. Never knew that. Quote Link to comment

There have been some interesting puzzle caches created with cacher's ID numbers. Quote Link to comment
+dfx
yeah they work the same as the GC numbers. the algorithm is described here (under GCxxxx). in short, IDs of 65535 and below are just converted to hexadecimal (65535 = FFFF, so GCFFFF or PRFFFF). IDs above that are added 411120 and then converted to base-31 (for example using this page) and then undergo some letter substitution to get rid of the letters ILOSU (to be precise: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTU -> ABCDEFGHJKMNPQRTVWXYZ). example using the OP's number: 3285950+411120=3697070 converted to base-31 is 4033A. substituting the letters makes no difference, so the profile link is http://coord.info/PR4033A Edited September 14, 2010 by dfx Quote Link to comment

Go to GC Waypoint number and paste your ID into the waypoint input field. Hit go and converted number will show in Waypoint field. You have to substitute PR for the GC, but must that have a IQ slightly above room temperature should be able to handle that. Edited September 14, 2010 by jholly Quote Link to comment

Don't own a cache? Put one on your watchlist, then post a note. Not a premium member? Read dfx's post. Quote Link to comment

+Mental Ellert-ness
Yup, Fizzycalc is the way to go. I already had it downloaded for projections, I just hadn't paid much attention to it's other utilities. Thanks for the help! Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
Psst GeoCalc is the old-timer's name for FizzyCalc Quote Link to comment
