3Hs Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Is there a way to automatically notify you of any new caches in your area? The only way I know how is to run a PQ every now and then for caches placed in the last week. Thank you Quote

JJnTJ Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 When you view your profile page (http://www.geocaching.com/my), on the right side of the page under "Premium features" there is a link to "Set Up Notifications". You have to create a notification for each cache type; I don't see any way to be notified if a new cache of any type is created. Quote
ShowStop Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 To add to what JJnTJ said, you will want to select "Publish Listing" for each cache type you want to monitor. This will give you the notification when new caches of that type go live. Quote
3Hs Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Got it all set up. Thanks everyone. Quote
mynetdude Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 This option needs to be redesigned... kinda silly to have to create a notification for EACH type of cache Quote
dfx Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 This option needs to be redesigned... kinda silly to have to create a notification for EACH type of cache well, it does make sense if you consider that different cache types have different log types. but yeah i agree, there's much better ways this whole thing could be set up.
