SeeTheUnseen
I just got my first GPS in the form of a PN-40. I figured out most of it but I still don't know how to load pocket queries on to it. After going through the forums I decided it will probably be easiest for me to use Topo 8. So how do you send a PQ to the PN40 with T8? I'm sure this is really easy but I can't figure it out. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
frozenflyboy
Pocket Queries require a Premium Membership to this site. Quote Link to comment
+dakboy
A) You need a Premium Membership to get PQs, regardless of your software or GPS. Since you just purchased the PN-40 (I assume brand-new), you should qualify for a free upgrade to Topo9, which makes it MUCH simpler once you have the PM. Call DeLorme Sales & talk to them. +embra
If you have a PQ file and Topo8, you need only drag and drop the PQ into an open T8 project. Then transfer the resulting waypoint layer to your PN-40 with Handheld Exchange. I agree that Topo9 makes it even easier. After you log into your geocaching.com account from within Topo9, all you have to do is hit the Sync button whenever Topo9 automatically updates your PQ files. Quote Link to comment
+Team_Searchgeo
Also with the new 2.8 F/W that comes with topo 9 you just drag and drop your gpx files into the gpx folder on the sd card with window explorer while it is still in the unit. Quote Link to comment
+sodajerk
Did you get a certificate with your PN-40 for a free one month premium membership? Give it a try. Quote Link to comment
