+mrlaughingman Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) i picked up the Haulin' Dirt Tonka v2.0 travel bug TB11JHH is the reference number. it has capsules attached to it for dirt. one of the capsules is listed as australian outback dirt. i am looking for a cacher in australia to swap travel bugs with to help this one get its mission complete. i am in america by the way so if you send me a travel bug you will have helped one crossed the ocean. +BlueDeuce Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Never snailmail a bug without owner permission. The owner intended it to reach its destination by traveling via caches. If they wanted to sent to a location they would have mailed it themselves. Quote
+The Spindoctors Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I doubt this will get through quarantine in Australia. We have strict rules on what can come in and soil is one of them. It may contain material that could become a pest in Australia. http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/travel/enterin...ralia/cant-take The person bringing it in would have to declare it and it would have to be irradiated (about $30). +t4e Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 (edited) i don't see anything mentioning soil...all it references is "Food, plant material and animal products" which is the same in Canada, i think pretty much any country has such restrictions....dirt in a little capsule can't be harmful, when you start getting in large quantities than it becomes a problem EDIT: OMG at that list, i wonder how long it takes to get through customs lol Edited April 8, 2010 by t4e Quote
+The Spindoctors Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 "used sporting and camping equipment including tents, footwear, hiking boots, golf equipment and bicycles (need to be checked to ensure they are clean and free from soil contamination)" I wouldn't chance it. My friend worked for AQIS for a number of years and they are strict. New Zealand is even tougher. Quote
+DARKSIDEDAN Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 I have had two travel bugs that I have picked up with peoples ashes inside. I would have thought this would be against the rules too Quote
