modernman
I started my cache, Alien Invasion (GC1R4X7), with a dozen glow in the dark aliens. The last of the aliens have now be removed from the cache, ending the invasion. When I setup the cache I decided to send the person who took the last alien a geocoin or travel bug. Obviously I didn't mention this in the cache description. I contacted the person who took the last alien offering them a geocoin. I have a two part question for members with more experience. Has anyone done something like this before? Do you think this is a good idea, or is it just adding complications? Thanks for your feedback. I'm very new to geocaching but I'm having a lot of fun and want to try doing something different. Quote Link to comment

I assume you mean unactivated? If it was an activated one I don't know if I'd really care as much. I'd probably say no thanks - just drop it in a cache. Quote Link to comment

Always assume the worst. This is the best method in almost all scenarios. Quote Link to comment
modernman
What did the lucky cacher say when you asked for the address so you could send the coin? Geocaching member oshf was the lucky winner. She was really nice, thanked me for the coin and even OKed me writing about it here and on my blog. I'm waiting to receive the coin but once I do it's going out in the mail the same day. Quote Link to comment

+Morning Dew
A great idea! I'm curious as to why you would think anyone would have a problem with it? It's like the radio version of "be the 12th caller and win a ....." However, you don't even realize you're playing when you go to get your cache . Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
It's a nice idea. I think I recall a topic on here some months back where a cache owner was going to do something a bit similar by sending a small prize or certificate to the 100th finder of their cache (without mentioning this fact on the cache page).
