Good question. I am hedging my bet on more. People will enthusiastically drop them off and do one or two caches in SA to claim a geography, but could not be bothered to grab trackables or wish to feel obligated to hang onto trackables for the duration of their stay.

I will be dropping off a whole lot while here - but will also be collecting to take back with me. Most cachers will drop and collect so perhaps the figures will not always reflect the actual movement in and out.

I was a little guilty in this stat - I took 3 more out of SA than I brought in this time

I guess it all averages out in the end, but if coincidentally in the days preceding the stats being taken there are more coins and TBs removed from caches and sitting in cachers hands that would influence the figure too, as it would if coincidentally more cachers dropped coins that are sitting in their bags. It seems that as event caches come up people start hoarding them to take to the event. I wonder what the figure would look like if we all dropped all the coins we are sitting on?

I would have expected the number to be higher. Of the 102 new TBs in circulation as a result of the 2011 TB Race, 82 are still in SA. Are they all in cacher's bags because it does not seem to have made any dent in the statistics?
