Event Cache "Swag"

I'm helping with an Event Cache in my area (a geo-picnic) and have been asked to approach local businesses for donations of items to be given as "door prizes". I have no problem with asking for donations I just don't know what to ask for. What are some items you would like to receive as a prize at an event (within reason of course, I doubt anyone is going to donate and GPS units or the like).

 

Serious suggestions for items will be greatly appreciated (not only by me but by those receiving the items as well )

The events that I've attended where this was done the swag tended toward outdoors related items like trail maps, packable first aid kits, GPS software (and a unit one year), Nalgene bottles, fanny packs, hiking poles, etc. I guess this is because the organizers largely hit up outdoors retailers who might see geocachers as a potential customer base.

Geocoins always go over well as door prizes. We are very fortunate in our area that several local cachers that are really into geocoins are also very generous at donating them both as prizes and toward coin auctions, the proceeds of which help pay for the following year's event.

You might also consider restaurants - modest gift certificates. Not all events offer a feed.

coupons for free this n' that[i got a bunch of free baja fresh coupons i put in caches they'd fit in]
