Dymlostalos
How often are new series of handheld gps's released, if you had to make a guess when would you say the next one will come out. Trying to decide whether to grab the oregon or wait for next series with fixed/better/added features ect. Quote Link to comment

+Red90
There is no "norm". But since they released all new series of top end handhelds less than a year ago, I would say at least one more year. Quote Link to comment

rapriebe
GPS is like any other electronics technology... what you buy today will be out of date tomorrow. I'd buy what you like today and use it and be happy with it. I've had to do that with computers, cameras, GPS. My Nuvi GPS 260 was a new model when I bought it a year ago last December... it was old hat in 2 months. But it still does what I bought it for, so I'm still happy with it. In fact it's even more useful now that I've decided to take up geocaching, because I can use it in conjunction with my eTex Summit for paperless caching. You can drive yourself nuts trying to stay ahead of the game... just get with works for you and enjoy it... happy hunting! Edited February 8, 2009 by rapriebe Quote Link to comment
anethema
Or you buy early to have the latest model longest and fight bugs for 6 months before your handheld is acceptable Quote Link to comment
+jotne
Colorado was introduced January 2008 Oregon July 2008 So only 6 months between two version of GPS from Garmin Quote Link to comment
