+Unkle Fester Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I'll be heading to the one in Washington this spring, (April or May) anyone wants to come out and join me just drop me a line... Heck, I'll even join you if you come out after I've done it. Why? Because it's different, and not that many people have done it... Sure I have to go about 120 miles to get to the APE cache, but what the heck, it's an ADVENTURE, part of the allure. Just like the original stash tribute cache, it's only about 15 miles away from me and I made it my first find. Why? Because I'm a total geek... I geek out over stuff like this. OK, so my wife uses the term, Dork - same meaning. Quote
+Vinny & Sue Team Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Will there ever be another series like Project A.P.E.? ie. a small series of 'must-do' caches with their own unique icon thanks Mark (I suspect the answer will be: "Yes, if someone is willing to pay buckets of dosh to Groundspeak") I am extremely limited in what I can reveal, but there is a pretty good chance that there will be another film promotion something like the APE cache promotion within the next two years, and that it will involve unique themed caches, lots of film-specific themed goodies, including DVDs (i.e., for swag and prizes) donated by the studio, a unique themed signature coin and a unique icon for the caches and coins. There is nothing more to tell at this point (and any emails or PMs received begging for more information will be pointedly ignored), and rather, if this comes to pass, you will hear the formal announcement in due time from Groundspeak. . Keystone Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Thanks for the sneak preview. I always thought that movie deserved a sequel. Quote

I so wish that you had not chosen, unwisely, to reveal more about this matter at this time. I suspect that you will be receiving a visit from the Men In Black tonight in the wee hours of the morning. I do hope that you are comfortable with them and at peace with their methods; they really just want to help you, you know. . Quote

Why would you think that? Even in 2001 before Geocaching had such widespread popularity outside the USA, about half of the Project APE caches were hidden in countries other than the USA, including yours. Quote
