HOLD OFF ON THE INSTALL IM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 500 AFTER THE INSTALL

typed in caps on purpose

I tried it and don't seem to be having any problems. I went to the secret menu and it now shows Waas satellites which I didn't have before.

What kind of problems did you encounter?

when I turn on the unit I now get

press enter to configure nand

press escape to cancel

edit to add

when I press either key it just turns the unit off

guess I'll try and call magellan

Downloaded and installed the European firmware for my North American Explorist XL a few weeks ago (available from Maggies support page) and had WAAS restored. Also got the extra screens which apparently you don't get with the North American update. Be sure to back up your basemap first!!!

If that gets you nowhere here's an old thread on the Nand Loop thing...

I just ran the North American update for my 210, and I no longer have all the screens I had. If I remember right, the Europe version of the firmware had a lot more screens, is that correct? How can I get the European version?

Other than that, the update seemed to go fine. I am at version 3.1.78 now.
