+tomwilson74
I just got my new Magellan eXplorist 500. I have never downloaded anything to a gps because I previously had the eXplorist 200. Where can I find free roadmaps to download, or is there none? Also, anyone have a quick tutorial for me about download these maps. I would like to have a detailed map of Arizona and West Virginia. I live in WV but go to AZ often on vacation and would like to have some maps for geocaching and off-roading. Edited December 9, 2008 by tomwilson74 Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
Most custom/free maps and instructions are for Garmin units. Quote Link to comment
+trainlove
Try joining some yahoo user groups on map making. I know at least one of them has what I think is a way to convert Garmin maps to Magellan maps. Then you possibly could use the multitude of free Garmin maps. If you search this forum you will see links to many of those. As for the yahoo user groups, check my profile. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Here is where you learn about making Magellan maps, http://www.msh-tools.com/ It works, but is a large PITA. Doing large areas is extremely time consuming as non of the processes can be automated. Quote Link to comment
