+booglepss12 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hi! I would like to set up an earthcache but I am uncertain how to start and where to start. Would someone be able to give me some tips? Thanks. Quote
Neos2 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Lots of folks here will help. Do you have a particular spot in mind already? What type of EarthCache will it be? (Erosional feature, volcanic feature, etc) Quote
+Juicepig Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Find a spot that has unique and interesting geological features, pull up as much research as you can on the subject - then display it in an interesting manner for folks. Also remember that coming up with logging requirements will require some actual thinking, not just "take a picture" or "read from plaque" sort of details Quote
+PaRacers Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Find a geologically significant feature and do some research on it. Visit the site and get some good coords with your GPS. Then sit down and write up a description of the feature along with some educational task that will teach visitors some aspect of the way the earth was formed. Multiple visits to http://www.earthcache.org/ will be essential to refer to the submittal guidelines and to get pointers from other EarthCache sites. Quote
+booglepss12 Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Well, I submitted my first earthcache. We'll see how it goes. It involves the hydrology of a marsh area nearby. Will let you know how I make out. Quote
