big_bob
While out walking I've noticed that the quality of blackberries is very poor this year. While there seems to be plenty around they are smaller than usual and definitely not as sweet as usual. Has anyone else found this? Quote Link to comment
+Gushoneybun
nope. Have seen people picking them but do not bother with them so don't really take any notice. As for nettles growing high and fast that I have seen Quote Link to comment

+t.a.folk
We,ve found no probs . Gathered usual early sharp tasting ones in July for jam making . No shortage of later mild August & early September ones for freeezing . Lasty few gathered while caching near Winterbourne where we got some elderberries as well . Quote Link to comment

We've been picking blackberries while out caching for about 3 weeks now and have found that the ones on the roadside or trackside, as you say are quite small, but the past week we have been to areas which arent frequented quite so often and a little more rural and the blackberries we have found there have been absolutely beautiful, big, fat, juicy and with no 'extra protein' inside either . +keehotee
Is this thread going to last as long as the last geofood one??? I try to put all my caches within 5 miles of a pasty shop, in case the foraging isn't enough to keep people going...... Quote Link to comment
