hollaa
Hey guys, Quick question can I have both a TOPO map and the City Navigator map installed? the reason I ask is because I had the City Nav NT with about 5-6 states installed in my GPS and my friend who has the TOPO maps (both mapsource products) she insalled the TOPO into my GPS but it took out all my City Map states that I had loaded? SO tonight I loaded my 6 states back into my GPS and guess what I lost the TOPO map she installed for me? I was sure I could run either or by turning one or the other off in my GPS options? Is there a way to do it or Im I missing something in my setup! Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+IBcrashen
You have to install both of them at the same time. Every time you upload any maps it will wipe out the ones you have already installed. Pick the segments you want for one and then in mapsource switch over to the other one and do the same and then send them. Quote Link to comment

+Team_LPD
Great thanks---How do I switch over from Map to Map in mapsource? In the drop down menu pick either topo of CN, select the maps then upload them to your GPS. Quote Link to comment
Liquidbridge
How long did it take you to install 5-6 states? I am trying to install one and it took almost 12 hours before crashing. Quote Link to comment
ao318
I installed all of California Topo and NT on my 60csx and it took about 8 minutes..... Quote Link to comment
+DENelson83
You need to make sure, though, that both map families you want to put on your unit are actually installed on your computer at the same time. Quote Link to comment

I still haven't gotten into using MapSource much but I was under the impression that the built in Help file at least covered these basic mapping concepts? Is there any better source for how to manage maps and how to use MapSource? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
