+deejay44
I have noticed that there are a few unpublished caches with Coins in them. Is this an accepted part of the game and how prevalent is it? Dave Quote Link to comment
+Cushie Butterfield
I think people have their own unpublished cache to keep their own non travelling coin collection in it. Others (like us) have a seperate log in and transfer them there. It's to keep them seperate from the inventory list when you visit a cache and drop other traveller's. It saves me trawling through a list of 75 coins to find the one I am dropping. Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
As above, but also Sometimes a geocacher will create a brand new cache listing, drop a coin or TB into it, then submit it for review. For any number of reasons, it might not get published... then sometimes it gets forgotten about and the trackable is "stuck" there, until the cache owner gets a slightly peeved email from the owner of the trackable concerned. That's why it's good practice not to drop trackables into any cache until after it's been published. If I saw an unpublished cache with several trackables in it that didn't belong to the cache owner, then I'd be a bit concerned. MrsB Edited August 31, 2008 by The Blorenges Quote Link to comment
lakeuk
as previously said some setup an unpublished cache to hold their coin collection, a clue that it won't get published is that some name the cache coin book. Others will put them their unpublished cached for when the cache is ready to published. I don't see any problem, they're the original owner of the coin which they can do what they like with them Quote Link to comment
+ClareLouise
My first cache was muggled, and so is now archived, so it's the perfect place to "store" my coin collection when I don't need them "in hand"... Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Just wonder... How can you see an "Unpublished" cache? Quote Link to comment
+Jonovich
Just wonder... How can you see an "Unpublished" cache? If one of the TB's on your watchlist has been placed in it, then it is possible. You should never place someone elses TB in an un-published cache if you do not wish for it to be seen before publication. Jon. Edited August 31, 2008 by Dakar4x4 Quote Link to comment
lakeuk
It's also possible to see a useful part of a unpublished cached without having a TB on your watchlist Quote Link to comment
