+TexasGringo Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Did you check the manufactuors site to see if there are any drivers? Read This.... http://www.magellangps.com/support/faqdeta...amp;prodid=2062 Quote
+trainlove Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I have read somewhere that on an Explorist GPS your USB can either be used like a thumb drive or as a communication port. It all depends on how you connect it to the computer, I.E. If the GPS is ON or OFF when you connect it. Perhaps it also has a setting inside it like my IPOD/like music device which is a 20Gig drive if I tell it to be that. Your Triton is probably the same, as Magellan engineers seem to use the same old, and mostly incorrect, way of doing things. Quote
+m.austin Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I had a Magellan Triton 400 & never could get it to play nice with my computer. I admire those who can get the durn thing to work (and I'm the school tech goddess - hey, I can give myself whatever name I want!) Quote
stryder717 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 did you turn the gps on after connecting it? Quote
+agplant Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I have had the same communication issue with my computer and explorist. When I called the magellan help line it ended up that the communication cable that came with the unit was faulty and they sent me a new one right away. Problem solved. I also had all the driver download issues that you have been advised to follow as well that I went completed prior to calling them. Quote
