sjn951
Anyone able to use Verizon's VZ Navigator for geocaching? I just ordered a Blackberry Curve from Verizon and was curious if it will work. Quote Link to comment

+biglillynn
Have you found out yet? I'll be going to the Verizon store today to try to input decimal coordinates in a Dare. Quote Link to comment
+storm180
Verizon uses triangulation for its VZ Navigator, it works pretty well for routing on the road but really bad for geocaching. As for third party geocaching software, not possible since verizon locks their gps to only verizon services. Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
You may want to look at the Treo 755p for Verizon. Combine that with Garmin Mobile XT (a real gps not triangulation) and it works great. Cachemate to look at the info for each cache. Quote Link to comment

If your phone has built-in GPS, your wireless carrier may block usage of it. Check with your carrier regarding the availability of GPS for add-on mapping software. Click on the specs tab for more information on compatible phones for this product. http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/verizon-gps-lockout-44210/ Quote Link to comment
Team Woot!
Anyone able to use Verizon's VZ Navigator for geocaching? I just ordered a Blackberry Curve from Verizon and was curious if it will work. I bought the LG Dare about 2 weeks before I learned about geocaching. When I saw that I could get coordinates on my phone I thought I'd try caching with the phone. I have to convert the cache's location to DMS form for the VZ navigator to work but I've now logged several caches with this phone. It is a little challenging but functional. I'm sure I'll really love it when I buy a true GPS unit!!! Quote Link to comment
+Genoist
I use nav sometimes for driving directions to the parking coordinates. I wouldn't think of using it for actual caching. If you use the companion website www.vznavigator.com you can enter coordinates. Those will then show on the device as "my places" Quote Link to comment
anthonyy
I finally figured out how to add addresses and look up businesses on the web and synchronize them to my Navigator's "Favorites". If anyone is interested here is the link: http://my.telenav.com Quote Link to comment
