Greetings,

I installed Microsoft internet exploroer version 8 for windows XP and now when I look at the GC.COM SAT, Topo, Maps there are lots of errors.

There are about 10 ZOOM scale bars and the webpages do not show the entire maps. Or the maps appear briefly and then are overlayed by blank maps.

Can not zoom in or out. Can only pan. Cache location icons do not appear.

Should I delete Internet explorer 8 and reinstall version 7?

Regards

Wow. I didn't even know there was a version 8. I never installed version 7. Of course I don't use IE so it doesn't really matter to me.

If you are having issues with 8 and didn't have the issues with 7 I can see no reason not to go back to the previous version.

Yes, it is buggy on IE8. However, IE8 is in beta, so send the bug to microsoft. Secondly, in IE8 there is a little button in the tool bar "emulate IE7" and that should do the trick.

For the record, IE8 is much better than firefox in that it does not have big memory leaks. It is also much faster. And even more secure than IE7. And IE8 is also free (as IE has always been despite what open source zealots want you to believe)

I installed IE 8 Beta a few days ago and had a few problems with geocaching.com loading and even started a thread here about it. The next day (without doing anything to the settings) all began working ok with geocaching.com but there were a couple of other sites giving similar problems. Last night all those went away (again, without my input) and all appears to be working ok.

I know this doesn't help you but I just wanted to share my experience with IE 8 Beta. BTW, I like the new IE. It has some new neat features which I'm already using.

And like somebody else said, if something isn't working correct then hit the "Emulate IE7" tab.
