+rain417
Ok, I have a Garmin Nuvi 200, I have used it for caching and have had some luck with the easier ones, I think I would like to buy one that is more for caching I would LOVE the Garmin 60csx but after spending money on the Nuvi I can't afford the 60csx any ideas?? +Dick'n'Tracy
I have the Magellan eXplorist 210 and it works just fine for caching. A few people here have mentioned lateley that because the eXplorist 500 has been discontinued, that some stores are selling it as low as $80. Also a tip that might help, when my friend and I go caching, sometimes we have to make ourselves put the GPS away when we get close and use our intuition to look in logical hiding spots.... Hope this helps Tracy of Dick'N'Tracy Quote Link to comment
+Phipps Family
Since you already have a GPSr for on street navigating, any one of the Garmin eTrex series would work great for the final navigation to the cache. The original yellow eTrex can be had for less than $100. If you want something with autorouting capabilities, the Vista C and Legend C, both now discontinued, can be found on ebay for between $100 and $200. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
If you decide on one of the Garmin eTrex line (and I do recommend one to compliment your Nuvi) - make certain you get one of the newer "H" models as they have a high sensitivity chip that works in many situations that others will not. +kraushad
Depends on your level of $$ and your level of gadgetfriekery! I spent a little more than the basic and a little less than the 60CSX and am VERY happy with my Vista HCX. Quote Link to comment
+Peconic Bay Sailors
since you already have A Garmin... I would stick with Garmin... for compatability reasons and cost effetiveness with software... A Garmin eTrex Legend CX model would be a good match... we have the 60 & 76 CSx models, and love both... also have a Legend C... the Legend C works just fine for geocaching... we just needed the waterproof stuff & off-shore sailboat racing features the 60 & 76 CSx's have to offer... +Night Stalker
You might look at the 60CX. It will be a bit cheaper, though maybe not cheap enough. It has most of the gadgets of the 60CSX. The only one you may really miss is the built in electronic compass. Quote Link to comment
