+Happy Humphrey
Another virtual (GCDD00) looks like it is about to die... I'm guessing that it is not possible to adopt it? I don't know whether this will be allowed. If not, it will easily convert into a waymark - best to do this before it gets forgotten about. I'd place it under "World War II Memorials / Monuments". +SidAndBob
I was asking the same question earlier today as Pen y Fantastic looks in danger of going! Unfortunately I have since found this thread. Quote Link to comment
+The Other Stu
I was asking the same question earlier today as Pen y Fantastic looks in danger of going! Unfortunately I have since found this thread. So the way I see it, they can be adopted using the standard adoption tool http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/ Stu Quote Link to comment
+Cryptik Souls Crew
I think its stupid that a cache which has no issues and is still being found regularly would be archived because the owner hasn't logged in for a while. If there are issues with a cache then I could understand the logic, but when everything is ticking along fine it seems pointless to me to archive it. Quote Link to comment

It is unfortunate, but it's Groundspeak's rules which our reviewers are asked to enforce. In our reviewers defense, it has been 12 months since any virtuals were checked. All you can do is keep an eye on Virtuals local to yourself, and if you think one is in danger of getting archived, see if the owner is willing to either keep on logging in, or adopt it out. It worked for me tonight Quote Link to comment

Lactodorum
Is the owner of the cache replying to e-mails being sent to him? If not, then the cache isn't being "maintained" and is therefore subject to being archived. If he is still confirming people's finds then why isn't he logging on the site as required? The ruleguideline may appear stupid but is there for a purpose. Even virtual caches need checking from time to time in case the information required is no longer there. Signs, for instance, do get removed occasionally. Quote Link to comment
+Rosie's Rangers
We've just tried contacting the owners of this cache to see if we can keep it going. History Cache 002, fingers crossed? Quote Link to comment
