+imajeep Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 The FAQ should get you going. Keep in mind that most Garmins will connect to your PC, so that you can download coordinates, instead of entering them manually. FAQs cover downloading coordinates from GC.com so that you can transfer them to your PC Quote
+Chuy! Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Your Etrex H has a serial connection. You may need to get a USB-Serial adapter as most computers today do not support serial connections. To enter coords, go to the menu and select Mark; you need to have a satellite lock to mark a waypoint. After marking the waypoint, go back to the menu and select Waypoints. Find the waypoint you created and edit the coordinates. Be sure your GPS is using the WGS84 datum and using the hddd mm.mmm' format. I think you want Setup to view the dafault settings. Quote

If you look on ebay, there are also 3rd-party cords that connect from the Garmin directly to USB (it comes with a serial-to-USB driver that you install on your computer). Once you do this, there are many applications that you can use to transfer cache coordinates. Quote

Before you click OK to save it, use the up/down buttons to change to coordinates at the bottom of the screen. Then click OK to save. Quote
