+Budderbean
I opened a Geocaching account. I have a desire to change the name without effecting the account number. Is there a way to do this??? Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Yep, and it's in the FAQs. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...t&p=3032392 Quote Link to comment
+joranda
If they change it for you. Do you lose all your finds and does the starting date change? Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
If they change it for you. Do you lose all your finds and does the starting date change? No You used to be able to change it on your own. Then after a software change - they removed the ability and you had to relog and re-create from scratch to get a change. Now the process is to write in and ask them to do it for you so nothing gets lost. Quote Link to comment
+PhantasmNZ
I recently changed my name and it's painless. Only mistake I made was to get too impatient!!! - give it a good few days (especially if it's over a weekend - I sent my request on a friday, and was answered on wednesday) - I guess the guys that do the maintenance are off caching on the weekends Once your name is changed, even your login cookie stll works (ie if you clicked remember me, you still auto-login) Good luck!!
