Which Garmin to buy

If you had $250.00 to spend which Garmin handheld GPS would you buy, I want as many bells and whistles as I can get for this price.

For $250 you may get a 60CSx or a Vista HCx. Those would be the ones I'd be looking at.

Another option is the 76Csx - same as the 60 really, just a different case and it floats

 

May be tricky to get it for $250 though, the H series Legends are apparently very accurate and a good alternative - fewer bells and whistles though

I would get the Vista HCx at REI for $219.00, while it is on sale, and put the balance towards the maps, either Topo, or City Navigator, or both.

For $250 I'd probably get the Legend HCX and put the difference into the mapping software.

$30 won't go far towards mapping software, but it will get you a decent compass.

I've seen the Legend HCX for a tad under $200 and the extra 50 some bucks will cover nearly all of the cost of

Mapsource Topo 2008 or roughly half of the cost of City Navigator.

I just bought a 60CSx and love it. It does much more than I expected and I am still learning its tricks. You can get it for 270 or 280 with the 50 dollar rebate

I have an Etrex Summit HC, got it for $190.00 (new) on E-Bay. Color, High sensitivity antenna, Geocache mode, Electronic Compass (a Must). Works great!!

I got mine for $334 plus the rebate.....right after mine arrive (via UPS) they lowered the price to $305!!!!
