+aronnie Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) If you had $250.00 to spend which Garmin handheld GPS would you buy, I want as many bells and whistles as I can get for this price. Thanks aronnie Edited November 22, 2007 by aronnie Quote
+SUp3rFM & Cruella Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 For $250 you may get a 60CSx or a Vista HCx. Those would be the ones I'd be looking at. Quote
+macroderma Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Another option is the 76Csx - same as the 60 really, just a different case and it floats May be tricky to get it for $250 though, the H series Legends are apparently very accurate and a good alternative - fewer bells and whistles though edit:typo Edited November 22, 2007 by macroderma Quote
+Miragee Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I would get the Vista HCx at REI for $219.00, while it is on sale, and put the balance towards the maps, either Topo, or City Navigator, or both. Quote

+briansnat Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 For $250 I'd probably get the Legend HCX and put the difference into the mapping software. Quote
+aronnie Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks I ordered one for the same price $219.00, includes Fedx 3 Day Shipping and Tax, looking foward for it's arrival. aronnie Edited November 24, 2007 by aronnie Quote
gallet Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 ...and put the difference into the mapping software... $30 won't go far towards mapping software, but it will get you a decent compass. Quote

I've seen the Legend HCX for a tad under $200 and the extra 50 some bucks will cover nearly all of the cost of Mapsource Topo 2008 or roughly half of the cost of City Navigator. Quote

Thanks aronnie I just bought a 60CSx and love it. It does much more than I expected and I am still learning its tricks. You can get it for 270 or 280 with the 50 dollar rebate Quote
