2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
A link to a trivia question. I knew 2 for sure, I googled the other and found out the answer. (John knew, but I did not believe him ) Do you know? Also, does anyone have any other interesting surveying trivia - posed as a question for us to answer? This sounds like fun. If you could include a picture to go along with the question, that would even be better. Shirley~ Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
I know all 3. Who's son went on to become a surveyor after the Lewis and Clark Expedition? Where did he practice? You will be surprised and may already know. Quote Link to comment

It is a signed copy that is one of the prizes that some lucky Poker Player will win. So, humor me.... If you know all of the answers, ask some questions. Thank you Geo for adding some questions. Thinking - Or should I say Googling.... Shirley~ Quote Link to comment

That was what I have trying to find, just not readily available on any of the other sites I have tried. The question was... Who's son went on to become a surveyor after the Lewis and Clark Expedition? Where did he practice? The answer you say? Here tis' - Surveyor General for Missouri and Illinois, Meriwether Lewis Clark (son of William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame) - (and named for William Clarks good friend.) +Kewaneh & Shark
My Kids know that they were important before they were presidents, and why they were important. (Their Dad continually reminds them.) They can also tell you that all three of them learned the trade from their fathers. It should also be said here that the 'Other Guy' knew the value of a good survey & surveyor too. Panama never would have happened without one. - Kewaneh Edited October 15, 2007 by Kewaneh & Shark Quote Link to comment

Difficult Run
I remember reading Thoreau's work in my American Literature class in college. It was evident that he was a surveyor, when he described portions of Walton in perches or roods. I had to explain to the class (and the instructor), what those terms mean. ~ Mitch ~ Quote Link to comment
