gargoyle725
I am still a newbie and I just dont want to put out a bounch of caches that noone likes. I currently have 2 hidden and they seem to be very easy for most. I have a spot that would require a good walk from parking, wading in water and some tough terran, I live in pinellas county,fl so there are not to many places like this around here. I plan on placing atleast 5 in this area because I dont feel the effort to get to the area would not be worth one cache. these caches would be great to take a small tent and light camping gear to go find. My question is are there enough people in the area who would be interested in caches like this? Quote Link to comment
+Sioneva
If you hide it, they will come. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Such caches will always get fewer visitors than most but are generally worth the effort to those that take the time to go to them. I would recommenc placing just 1 or 2 to start with and see how it goes from there. Make sure they conform to the guidelines before you set out. Quote Link to comment
+Robespierre
If you place difficult caches it will be a GREAT addition to your area, but you need a tough skin, because some will complain if you have mosquitoes near your cache or PI. Go for it. Quote Link to comment
+x_Marks_the_spot
When we put the canoe in the water to go caching, we always like to get at least two. It almost doesn't seem worth it to go through all that effort for just one cache. It seems like it would be the same for wading out into the swamp. Five may be overdoing it, but more than one would definitely be a good thing. Quote Link to comment
+bumblingbs
Pinellas County is in Florida, isn't it? Will we be wading with alligators and cottonmouths? Cool! Yeah, like the rest said ~ people complain about caches at Walmart, but ultimately they'll get found a lot more often than yours. The people who go the extra miles tend to be appreciative of the experience though, if you've tried to make it a good one for them and explained what they'll be up against. Quote Link to comment
+palmetto
As you're planning to place caches in Florida, you probably ought to take a look at the Florida Geocaching Policies here. Just a few minutes reading before you place those caches can save some grief later. Oh yeah, and don't forget these. Quote Link to comment
gargoyle725
thanks for the advice palmetto. I did review the policies and I dont think my spot will violate anything. I am going to scout the location and try to make sure it is acceptable. hopefully they will be placed by monday. Quote Link to comment
+Team Cotati
Shall we meet at Ye Olde Sandwyche Shoppe at Noone? “No one” is always two separate words, unlike “anyone” and “someone.” Quote Link to comment
