Which GPS to buy

We are looking to buy a GPS we are new. We like to hike and would like to try the geocashing any help would be great thanks alot

Really depends on your budget. Low end units go for around $60 and you can spend thousands. All will help you find caches.

 

Since you didn't mention anything else for now I will recommend either the Garmin venture Cx (about $180) - great rugged unit with expanable memory, color screen, fast usb interface and routable base map.

 

Or..

 

The brand new Legend HCX (about $215) - same great features as above but comes with usb cable and has a high sensitivity reciever for use under heavy tree cover. Faster processor as well.

If you will be caching in the woods, a high-sensitivity receiver is a must. The Garmin eTrex 'H' models seem to be good (they are brand new), and the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx is the acknowledged leader in the Garmin line. It's pricey, though.

Tne newer models in Garmin's eTrex line are great for hiking and geocaching. Consider the forementioned Venture CX or Legend HCX.

We have a Garmin ETrex Legend. It's a few years old, but works great. If you are looking to buy a used one, they work great. I've found some good prices at amazon.com.
