You can edit a post for up to 24 hours, but if you start a Thread, you cannot delete it. I think you have the option to "Lock" it, so it will quickly "fall" off the page.

You edit your post so that it doesn't say what you didn't want it to say.

 

Sometimes the best you can do is "nevermind"

 

You should be able to report your post if it truly needs to be deleted.

Actually I think you can edit for 48 hours. This gives you two days to rethink anything you have said that you may want to fix.

You can't lock your own threads anymore, but you can ask a MOD to do it for you.
