+Globetrotter.uk
I was looking at the AA recharagle batteries which plug into a usb port. Please can anyone tell me if they have tried them, do they last long, are they good for gpsr's. Quote Link to comment
lakeuk
I've not tried them but my opinon is that they are expensive for the added gimic of being able to charge them by USB, comparing:- AA USB Cell £10.99 for 2 (capacity per cell 1300mah) - free postage http://www.usbcell.com Ordinary Ni-Mh AA's £3.19 for 4 (capacity per cell 2600mah) - p+p £3.95 http://www.7dayshop.com Quote Link to comment

+The Blorenges
I got a unit from Expansys for my Mio P550 - £15 for a battery case and I put 4 x 2700mAh batteries in it. Gives me plenty of extra time. Can you alkaline batts but that seems wasteful as I have loads of spare rechargeables around the place! Quote Link to comment

Does your Mio have a mini USB connector then ? because I was wondering what the connection was between the charger and the PPC ? Quote Link to comment

We have been looking to get a battery power extender before we head off to Scotland Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
It's the charger, not the battery. You can charge standard NiMH batteries via a USB port if you have the right charger. Voltage is voltage, wherever it comes from. Getting 5VDC just means you don't have to convert from AC. Quote Link to comment
+Globetrotter.uk
I have seen some diy usb chargers, but its cheaper to look around. I have now got 4 AA on usb charge 24/7 Quote Link to comment
