+Pieman
I've been trying to use a track in Memory Map v5 to create a caches along a route PQ, without success. I create the track in Memory Map, select it and Export it as a gpx file. When I upload the gpx file into the "caches along a route" page on GC.com I get an error message. I get this regardless of the size of the track. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Wild stab in the dark guess... The track may have too many waypoints, draw a simpler route and try that. Second thoughts... I THINK it only works with routes, and not tracks. Quote Link to comment
+Pieman
I tried a straight quarter mile track and that failed too. I thought it only worked with tracks and not routes (from Pengy & Tiggers guide to creating caches along a route) but I'll give it a go when I get home. Quote Link to comment

Ah!! thats solved a problem that Id tried to solve, got bored and forgotten about long ago when I first tried using caches along a route! Just tried a Route on MM as opposed to Track and worked first time! THANKS! Quote Link to comment

Even if you create a track in MM, convert it (right click on it, convert to route) to a route (it must be a route with waypoints - a MM track doesn't have waypoints) before saving as a gpx file. Max way points is 500 and max length 500 miles. Quote Link to comment
+Pieman
I get the same error message when I use a route. I'm afraid. Edited March 16, 2007 by Pieman Quote Link to comment
+Pieman
All sorted. I needed to save as a route (not a track) in MM by right clicking the route and not using Export All- no idea why that should be important. Quote Link to comment
