+redtailfalconer
They are still coming up as "Grandfathered Caches" and I can't seem to find them in the drop down menu of placing a cache. Im just curious, are these approved and published on a per cache basis? Quote Link to comment
+mtn-man
You still have to submit them in the same manner as the past. You have to go through the earthcache site first. http://www.geosociety.org/earthcache/ Keep in mind that it isn't just a simple submission. You have to do your homework, you have to provide educational information, you have to have a verification question and you have to have permission from the land manager. Quote Link to comment

EarthCaches developed on private and public land must have prior approval of the landowners before submission. "private and public?" Doesn't that include ALL land? What other kind of land is there that is neither private nor public? Quote Link to comment
+Juicepig
.. "private and public?" Doesn't that include ALL land? What other kind of land is there that is neither private nor public? Disputed territories such as the Indian/Pakistani state of Kashmir and Jammu, or the Canadian Hans Island.. hehe Quote Link to comment
+KBI
.. "private and public?" Doesn't that include ALL land? What other kind of land is there that is neither private nor public? Disputed territories such as the Indian/Pakistani state of Kashmir and Jammu, or the Canadian Hans Island.. hehe I know you weren't being serious, but had that been a serious response I would have pointed out that "disputed" means neither "non-public" nor "non-private." Just because more than one country claims ownership of a piece of real estate doesn’t mean that the land in question is neither public nor private – if anything, by having multiple claimants it would have to be considered super-public (or super-private, as the case may be). The submitter of a prospective Earthcache would therefore, in order to cover all eventualities, need to get permission from BOTH claimants. There is, however, one place I know where we might get somewhere with this idea: It’s called Moosylvania. Moosylvania is the subject of a dispute between the United States and Canada: each country claims that it belongs to the other. The U.S. claims that it is a Canadian province, and Canada claims it is a U.S. state. Doesn't do us any good, though -- it has a governor: Bullwinkle J. Moose. One would presumably need to get permission from his office before submitting an Earthcache. BTW, the official sport of Moosylvania is farkling. Quote Link to comment
+Moose Mob
Farkling is fun. More fun than basketball, rugby, or bowling. Quote Link to comment
+Rose and the thorn
Farkling is fun in an embarrassing sort of way. Earthcaches on the otherhand are a lot of work. Well worth the effort once they are published. This is my first. GCZC69 Working on the second and have an idea for a third. Now back to our farkling network. Quote Link to comment
