ich bin extra schnell gefahren, damit er als erster ankommt.

I did try babelfish but I kept getting an error. Any help would be appreciated

I think it means something like "I drove quickly so that I/he could be there first"

 

Maybe trying to be FTF or something?

I thought that feature had been withdrawn due to abuse. I have not started a thread for so long so can't check if that is still true.

Acutally it means:

 

I was driving extra fast, so (in order to) HE arrives first!

Best thing to find out what "Lebkuchen" means is, to buy some. I thought you get Lebkuchen at Tesco.

Ah, but German Lebkuchen really is the best!!!!! Soft gingerbread usually wrapped in a sugar glaze or chocolate..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......conjures up Christmas for me every time!
