+RedhedMary
A friend (Golfdiva) and I went caching all day yesterday in the heat and humidity of Michigan. She is off work for a few weeks so this was a good time calendar wise for us to go, despite the weather! I know the air temp was in the 90s and the heat index probably was in triple digits. Still, we had a great time solving some tricky multiple stage multi's, including PB-2's Riverwalk. We were both in shorts (yep, LOTS of scratches on the legs!) and I wore an under-armour type t-shirt as well. We tried to stay in the cooler woods whenever possible, drank lots of water and sports drinks, and rested when needed. Air-conditioning in the cache mobile between caches. We survived pretty well overall. The two previous days I did a few local caches but started out really early and quit before noon when the heat/humidity really started to climb. Just be careful out there if you cache in the heat/humidity - be prepared! Quote Link to comment
+Henki
We're doing more Waymarking this summer than caching. Way too hot and humid down here, and mosquitoes everywhere. Quote Link to comment
+Katydid & Miles Stone
We've certainly cached more near swimming areas during the heat wave. We placed one cache at a swimming hole: The Swimming Hole. We've also set up a bookmark: Connecticut Swim Areas. Here's how Katydid and Mrs. SamtheSoccerDog got to the last event: Quote Link to comment

+ranger-rob
The heat hasn't had near the effect that the (nearly) $3.00/gal gas has. Quote Link to comment
Abigail
Absolutely. TOO hot. Went out today to do a new cache. Left at 9 a.m. We had to wear pants due to the undergrowth. By the time we got home at 9:58 I was dripping sweat and cranky. Who wants to wear boots, pants AND watch out for poisonous snakes? And I was still only STF! LOL Quote Link to comment
