Problems With A Pocket Query

I am having a problem: when I do a pocket query from zip code 07421 , and I want to load it into my palm pilot using plucker, it seems when plucker is updating the file it freezes always on the same file this does not allow me to download into my palm. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how did was it resolved?

I've had problems with Plucker freezing ... there were a couple things I tried (going from memory as I don't use it anymore since I switch to a PPC instead of a Palm):

1. There's a setting where you can choose whether you go across and then down or down than across from a hierarchy perspective (default I believe is "depth first"). Use the other setting ... this solve several freezes for me.

2. Make sure you don't go more than a "depth" of 3 and try restricting to the "same site".

3. If neither of these works, give Sunrise a shot. It's a freebee file generator which will output Plucker format files. And ... in my experience was a LOT faster than Plucker. You still use the Plucker viewer on the palm.

Yep, the exact same thing. I also finally switched to Sunrise (and later to SunriseXP). No more freezes and as Lasagna said, faster too.

There is only one. Follow the link I gave in the previous post and download the windows binary.

This one is different, no? I have both on my PC. Sunrise XP

I think there is some sort of html on one of the cache pages in our area.

There is check box in plucker that restricts links to external sites. There could be a bad link somewhere.

Between Lakelady, dhenninger, and JoiseyGirl, if we can figure out what caches are common in your PQs, we might be able to identify which cache page it out of whack.

Which file is causing Plucker to freeze?

Which file is causing Plucker to freeze?

When I ask for 15 miles from my home coordinates it freezes on 88 of 3087. The co-ords I am using are 40. 55.204, 074.38.977. The only restrictions I make are caches I have not found, do not own and are active. Thanks for your help.

My co-ords are 41. 08. 588N and 074. 18. 849 I ask for 500 caches within a 20 mile radius and my file gets stuck on 198 out of 7932.

I can get a 5 mile radius into my palm but not a 10mile radius. Ugh very frustrating!

Home Coordinates:

N 40 53.505

W 074 53.505

I get the freeze up if I do 500 closest, but not if I do 100 closest

I was thinking of doing a set of pq's by cache type. Hopefully that would narrow down the problem cache.

Good luck in your search. I gave up trying to find my problem cache and switched to Sunrise and later to SunriseXP. You get the same thing on your PDA (Plucker files) and a desktop app that is fast and doesn't freeze.

It looks like BrianSnat's The Roar is causing PQ's in Plucker to jam up.

There's some funny code going on in The Selector's cache attribute table, but I'm not %100 sure that is causing plucker to hang.

Anyway, I ran several PQ's around that cache and they all fail. Removed that cache, and everything was fine.

I notice a couple other caches (The Cascade, Centurion, and The Big Turk) that have some funny html tables and I suspect those will create errors in Plucker too.

Thanks Ekitt10 for your help, what are we going to do with briansnat? ;) I agree with Lakelady and we'll probably be searching for the Roar sooner than later.
