+PastorDIC
If you have had a coin made, could you please list the steps you had to go through to get the coin made, and what company it was with? That might help the pain and suffering for those of us who haven't had a coin made yet. Thank you. Quote Link to comment

+PastorDIC
Try here, the link at the top has valuable info collected from all over. Make sure you read this. Followed by this. Thank you. I will. It would be nice if all the information was in one place. I have heard so many people doing coins say "I don't know if I will ever make another coin, but if I do, I will certainly do things a lot differently next time." Quote Link to comment
+SquareD22
Well first I picture it during a meditation with appropriate stimulation... Then I take a piece of wax and start taking away everything that was not in my image. Add the text, make sure all imperfections are gone, Set it in investment, Burn out the wax, and centrifuge in the metal. Crack open the investment... out comes the rough cast coin! Polish it Make a rubber mold, Add more wax, lather, rince, repeat... and then you get something like this... ....Sterling Silver! Quote Link to comment
+3 HAPPY CAMPERS
SquareD22, That is so cool. I made jewelry in a high school class years ago in the same manner. Your halibut looks great! 3 Happy Campers Quote Link to comment
+Go JayBee
PastorDIC.... DON'T DO IT!! You'll be spending all of your waking hours lurking here in the forums, trying to cook up trade deals....you'll be getting paper cuts from packing all those coins....your wife will leave you because you spend all your spare time at the Post Office.....you'll forget what caching is like..... When you get ready to consider trading....... I would love to trade Personal Coins with you... Mine can be seen here: JayBee/LitLens Glowing Coin Quote Link to comment
Not So Lost Puppies
My first suggestion to someone that is new here and looking to make a coin... hang out in here for at least a month and read through previous postings. There is too much subjective info that would hard to put into any sort of 'how-to'. Second, and I know that many will not agree with me.... If it is going to be a personal signature item... fund it all yourself and don't sell it! I wouldn't even make it trackable, unless you will be sending them out as travellers yourself. Place it in caches and trade for it. Those coins are much more prized in collections than something that was bought from a coin sales site. Quote Link to comment
