+Alan2
I use National Geographic Topo and print my own or store them in my PPC. Quote Link to comment
+geoduck.5
USGS Topo maps have UTM coords. You can buy them at REI stores or other REI type stores. Quote Link to comment
Tahosa and Sons
If you use USGS TOPOS check the datum and make sure it is the same as the GPS. Most USGS Maps are Nad27. Quote Link to comment
+geoduck.5
Thanks T&S, I forgot to mention that important detail. You jarred my memory. The other thing you want to do if using USGS Topos, it to make sure your GPSr is set to the correct datum, but also make sure it is set to true north. Quote Link to comment
boogie bear
thanks all...I'll be ordering some asap...now maybe someone can help me out with the finer points of using a Casio pathfinder triple sensor compass watch. I just bought one and would like to hear about some of your experiences. It's my understanding they're not all that accurate...but still a great gadget...again, thanks for the map help Quote Link to comment
