+eyeinthesky
Has anyone seen this yet? A friend email this to me. Story: Geocacher prompts terrorist fears. He hid bucket under bridge BOISE, Idaho -- Scot Tintsman says he never had any troubles with the law until his girlfriend introduced him to what became his all-consuming passion: the satellite-navigated treasure hunt called geocaching. "She got me hooked," said the 33-year-old Idaho man, who faces criminal charges for hanging a green bucket beneath a concrete bridge on a major state highway last September. +TotemLake
This is old news and not worth rehashing here. Every now and then, some yahoo is going to try to hide a cache without reading the guidelines. This is one of those times. These types of caches will typically not make it past the reviewing process unless the hider outright lies about the location. Quote Link to comment

Team Misguided
It's never a bad idea to remind us all that we sometimes need to think what our actions will look like to someone who doesn't know about geocaching. Quote Link to comment
+vds
Had a similar occurance today, was seen putting a cache back in a fence next to a Post Office in KentWA and they apparently called the Bomb Squad. Got a phone call from an Officer who 'fortunately' knew of geocaching, but apparently the container (3/4" brass pipe floating in the fence post) looked too much like a pipe bomb. Man people are skittish these days...... Log entry from today... Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
Saw the archival of that cache and read your note. That's one reason I stay away from most urban caches. Quote Link to comment
+Wienerdog
Oh dear! That is a shame. I guess we all need to remember that Geocaching is a fairly new sport. Anytime something new comes up like this it takes awhile to evolve and have the general public TRULY know what it all entails. Geocaching is not a household word yet...... but we just need to press on. Someday it will be! Quote Link to comment
+The Jester
Something that small and that far away from the building casuses that much grief??!! Quote Link to comment
