The Great Mizuti
I've found a few and was thinking of placing some. I emailed my county's parks department for permission in a forest preserve, and yesterday, I got another idea. Right across from a local movie theater, there's a small wooded area. I was thinking about hiding a cache where people can put their used ticket stubs. It would be a fun post-movie activity, and (hopefully encourage people to keep their ticket stubs instead of throwing them on the ground. Any input? EDIT: I'm thinking in the logbook the cachers could put the movie they saw, and a 'thumbs-up, thumbs-down.' Edited January 14, 2006 by The Great Mizuti Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Well...... Not a bad idea. It's not a requirement right? Honestly, the first thing I think of is: Is this cache in a location that won't get muggled by being too public? If not, I say go for it. Edited January 14, 2006 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment
+Chuy!
You can "require" cachers to say what movie they saw and say yea or nay in their post. Quote Link to comment
+badlands
I'd have to put that cache on ignore as I haven't been to a movie in years. Quote Link to comment
+Robespierre
Said it so many times: make the cache more difficult, and you'll get very few visitors, so be prepared to accept that. If you allow non-moviegoers to also log it, then it might get traffic. Quote Link to comment
+Munin
If cachers have to leave a ticket stub, and if it has to be from that one particular theater to count, then I suspect you'd run afoul of the 'commercial cache' guideline. But if leaving a stub is optional, or if they can bring one from any movie theater, then I don't see where there'd be a problem. So what're you going to call it? The "Siskel and Ebert Cache"? (Or I guess "Siskel and Roeper" now?) "The Critic Cache"? Would the container be a Lock-and-Lock painted to look like a tub of popcorn? Oh, the possibilities! Quote Link to comment
+Alan2
How about a Kandy Kache where people can place their candy so we can all come and gorge! Quote Link to comment

This could be a dumb question as I don't know you, but is the wooded land public property, ie is it a park, or what? Do you have permission to hide a cache here? You need to have permission to hide a cache. Editing note, I am originally from Munster Indiana. I know of few places where there is a movie theatre near Highland. This erks me as the areas around those theatres are private property to the best of my knowledge. Unless something has changed in the last year or so, I think you need permission from the land owner to do this cache. Edited January 14, 2006 by 5¢ Quote Link to comment
