+DancesWithMoose
What do you do with the coins that include having your personal name engraved on them like The UK coins and Idaho? Do you send them out as travelers? Trade them? Would you consider an engraved coin more or less valuable to you in your collection? Quote Link to comment
+Lemon Fresh Dog
I'll release mine as travellers and keep one of them. I'll likely futher deface the traveller coins (I created a sepate thread on this) I would consider a mint, engraved coin to be even more valuable than a non-engraved coin if I traded/recieved it from the cacher themselves. Tandemaniacs
My Big Bear coins aren't engraved, but I did sign them. I know that's not what you are talking about, but I did it for ART's SAKE. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
The 2005 Idaho, I got so few (with my name on them) that I ended up giving them all away to people who had helped me with TC.org. I have one left and it's going in a cache one of these days. The Idaho's are not trackable so their use as travelers was limited. The UK I left unengraved. The 2006 Idaho I left Unengraved due to a design SNAFU. A lot of Idaho Cachers traded the engraved ones back and forth until they had a bunch of them with viarous names of people they knew (part of the reason any 2005 Idaho is scarce). Nobody got enough for what they wanted coins for. The engraving creates a split in the coins. The Unengraved ones end up being higher in demand, and the ones with names end up being in demand if you know the person. Since there are so few engraved ones with any one name...I'm not sure they are worth less. Time will tell either way. Edited December 12, 2005 by Renegade Knight Quote Link to comment
+Shasties
I have an Idaho coin engraved with 'Skinguy'. It was my first trade made for a coin. It's in the first place position of non-round/over-sized coins in my book. Probably the nicest looking coin in my collection. I think it's better engraved. It makes it more personal.
