I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I'm a flight attendant who enjoys geocaching on her layovers. I've introduced the sport to many of my fellow co-workers. These co-workers include two women named Jean and Caroline. Jean loved geocaching but Caroline, not so much. Anyway, Jean and I are attending Caroline's wedding this weekend. The only rule was "No Geocaching!" Well, Jean and I want to pay Caroline back so we would like to hide a cache in her yard. The cache will include her present, along with a few "surprise" goodies! We will give her a card at her wedding telling her the coordinates. We'd, also, like to include a poem of sorts... Something funny to tie it all together. Of course, we will need to get Caroline a GPS unit of her own and seek out her house, not to mention a good spot for a hide. I thought, perhaps, fellow geocachers would be willing to help in our endeavor. Neither Jean or I have ever hidden a geocache of our own so we're not exactly sure how to go about writing up the hunt info. Also, we're still scratching our heads trying to put together the "perfect" poem. Any ideas, insight, or wording would be most helpful!

Thank you in advance,

Monica (aka Campfire Girl)

Not even claiming to be close to a poet but here is a shot - Seatbacks in the upright position, micro in the bush..........

Carolyne, Carolyne you’re not a caching machine

We love ya, were happy for ya

Heres some flowers and a gps

Find the cache what a gass

We see you in your dress on your special day

Watch out for the muggles

They’ll laugh as you play

Here are our friends signing the log on this special day

Campfire girl wants you to play

Daddys shaking his head

In disbelief he said

I’ve got the FTF

Get on get off get going yo ho yo ho yo ho

Emergency exits are located here and there

We all love you and we are happy for you

Carolyne, Carolyne the caching maching

You have been cleared to land

Trays in the upright position

You have reached your final destination

the cache is located down the hall past the Delta ticket counter

If the micro is missing please see the customet service agent located on the second level by the Piedmont counter.

If you are ever in ERI look me up

Here is my poem for consideration:

You have to search to find the gift of love

Like the love that now unites you it had to be searched to be found

Through the years and encounters true love now abounds

Life is an adventure and a new journey awaits you

But not before we send you on a search that will elate you

We have something that will fit in the palm of your hand

and with the marvel of technology send you across the land

A GPS unit will guide you on this search for our gift to you

and may your heart continue to guide you just as true

We know you said no geocaching on your wedding day.

You know we don't always listen to everything you say.

Now, you can go without caching but. somewhere on this lot

is a special wedding cache which you can log...or not.

We KNOW you want to find it so, here's your GPS.

We know you want to be FTF but don't mess up your dress!

Now get out there and log this one. I'm sure it will be fun.

Here's to you and your new hubby and the many years to come.

once lost

...alone

the dark wood surrounds

bugs

annoyances, another one flies by

an arrow pointing the way

left right forward right

the hunt is on

clues abound

finding the truth!

joy! stories to be remembered!

trades are made

stories to be written!

young ones will follow in our footsteps

wisdom will come with age

the stories will never leave us

even until the end

Author's note: The process of discovery is universal. Whether we seek out geocaches or love or knowledge, the same truths hold steadily onward through time. It is a game of hide-and-seek, something we learn from a young age as a simple game of tag but it appeals to all ages because of our nature. I hope some inkling of that comes through in this hastily created (and probably a few days late) poem.
