+smartee
I have some latitude and longitude addresses I have collected in a text file over the years and I would like to put them into a .loc file so I can load them into my GPS. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Cache Viking
open a loc file with notepad, wordpad, word or word perfect and see how it is formatted and then try to duplicate it with a couple coords. If it works then go for all of your coords. Quote Link to comment

lakeuk
Use G7ToWin (http://www.gpsinformation.org/ronh/g7towin.htm) and a spreadsheet app like Excel. Get a sample loc file, Load it into G7ToWin, Save as a CSV (comma delimited file) from G7ToWin Load CSV file into Excel, Replace Lat and Lon details with yours - change any other details you're interested in, Save CSV file, Load CSV into G7ToWin, Save as loc file from G7ToWin Done!! Eddy [UK]
Hi Smartee, GPS Utility will do this for you. It works straight from text files. It will talk directly to your GPS. I use it all the time. Eddy [uK] Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
' date='Aug 21 2005, 06:59 AM'] GPS Utility will do this for you. It works straight from text files. It will talk directly to your GPS. This is assuming that the text file is properly formatted with all of the waypoint information. It sounds like smartee simply has a collection of coordinates in a simple text file. I don't think the utility will be of much use to him. Quote Link to comment
