Garmin C320 - How To Delete All Waypoints At Once

I bought the new 320 for car navigation while geocaching. Besides the fact you can't enter a waypoint (Lat/Long) by hand, only by download from the computer (which is acceptable), I just found out another major problem:

 

I load 500 waypoints for geocaching into the unit (the 500 nearest geocache waypoints for the target area).

 

After hunting the area, I want to delete all of the waypoints at once and load a new set of 500 waypoints into the c320.

 

As I understand the manual and the GUI of the 320, I can only delete waypoint for waypoint by hand. That takes much too long to work. Testing the unit, I could not find out an efficient way to delete more than 1 waypoint at a time!

 

A reset does not help, the waypoints are still there.

 

Is there a hidden easter egg code or a work around for my problem?

I don't have one, but if the interface is close enough to other Garmins, click on Find / Waypoint and then when it displays the list of all waypoints, click Menu and there should be Delete in the menu. Select it and you can (at least on the other units), delete All or delete by specific waypoint types.

And I checked the SD Card - only the card information is stored there; the waypoints are in the internal memory.

Someone mentioned this about a month or so ago. I think there is a trick. Try using the search function and go back to late May.

I think the trick is sorting the waypoints by name (and not by distance).

Garmin posted me the work around:

 

> Thank you for contacting Garmin International. You can reset the unit,

but it is not recommended that you do this too often. You just put your

finger tip on the bottom right hand corner of the touch screen, then you

press the power button while keeping your finger on the screen. This should

power the unit up and ask if you're sure you want to reset the unit, this

will clear the waypoints. I hope this will help you.
