+Doombot!
On the map view all traditional caches are missing!! It's like a bad flashback to early 2002! Link to comment
+GO West
Yep, I confirm that. The mapping is my favorite feature of the site, by far. Also the most frustrating. Link to comment
GeoWorms
I'm glad you see it too--I thought Safari was acting up on me. I prefer Safari for the cache maps because I don't get that annoying "Page expired" pop-up going back and forth from the cache pages to the map. Link to comment
+WeightMan
It happens from time to time. If you click on the Identify radio button and then click in the area you are concerned then they will be identified and the numbers visible. Yeah, its a work around and a pain, but it does work. Link to comment
+as77
I can't believe Jeremy has still not fixed this bug. Why the heck am I paying my membership fee for? Wake up, Jeremy! We expect you to fix this! Deadline: yesterday!!! Link to comment
Jeremy
I did fix it today. If it is messed up again I'll have to do it when I have access past the firewall, which will be in the early morning. Link to comment
+as77
Thanks. This sounds to me like a temporary fix, though. The question is why it gets messed up repeatedly every now and then and whether you could fix it permanently. Link to comment

Wait patiently because things take time and they will come back? Post here and hope you see it? Send an e-mail? Link to comment
Jeremy
We have been waiting for a software update which has recently arrived, but we're testing in-house to make sure it doesn't have any issues. In the meantime I shut off the scheduled update since when it fails partway through the process it still uses the incomplete data set. Posting here is fine. Link to comment

Does this mean we won't see any new traditional (or any?) cache icons until the new software is OK? Or does it just mean we won't see them on a scheduled basis, but you (or someone) will start the update process occasionally? Link to comment
Charles Iverson
leave jeremy alone!! computers mess up on things all to much so yes there are just temporary fixs too keep every thing up and running with out too much if any down time but like jeremy said they are testing a new software to see if it has bugs let him work on it like he said i meen you can still log caches right??? and there are other geocaching maps online other then the geocaching.com maps Link to comment
+beejay&esskay
leave jeremy alone!! It was a request for information, not a complaint. Link to comment
+as77
No, it was a complaint from my part and I don't see why we should leave Jeremy alone, he's the head of the company and it's him that should be bothered when there is a problem. It's part of his job to take the nagging from the users. Link to comment
Jeremy
Does this mean we won't see any new traditional (or any?) cache icons until the new software is OK? No. I'll just execute them myself daily to make sure they all get generated. Link to comment
Jeremy
It's part of his job to take the nagging from the users. True. And generally speaking, however (and not directed at you), if you're a jerk about it that doesn't help much. So yeah, comment away but if you're less jerky it makes everyone happier. Link to comment
