RecSpecialist
I just upgraded from a eXplorist 100 to a eTrex Venture this week (don't ya just love Father's Day gifts). I also just bought me a Palm Zire 31 handheld and I'm totally new now to downloading maps and such onto both. I understand how to download onto the eTrex, but what software do I need for my Palm to keep details and hints of each waypoint I have? I'm totally confused. Quote Link to comment
Uncle T K
Get Cachemate ($8) you can download it from the form page. Get Geocachers Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) ($20) to manage file on your home computer. (Download from form page) Become a premium member and order Pocket Queries (PQ) up to 500 caches at one time, to be downloaded to GSAK (Filter) and then download to your GPS and Palm. Then expot from GSAK to Microsoft Streets & Trips ($35) to make your own maps of waypoints that you just downloaded to your GPS Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
First - you should become a Premium member Second - If you are a PM then you can make use of Pocket Queries to download information Third - Get GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) from resources page - use to move waypoints to the GPSr and manage data from PQs Fourth - Use something like Spinner and/or Cachemate to move information to your Palm Quote Link to comment

sbell111
CYBret's Geocacher U does a great job of explaining how to get cache pages on your pda. Its what I used. I only have two suggestions to add to his instructions. First, consider using Sunrise Desktop instead of Plucker's desktop application. Sunrise is faster and it is easy to use to get pictures from the cache pages onto the pda's cache pages. Next, check out ABXGuy's Cache Log Book. It's a pretty nice little database to record all your cache hunts. Edited June 16, 2005 by sbell111 Quote Link to comment

RecSpecialist
Thank you....Thank you....Thank you for all of your great help. I got both Spinner and Plucker here at work and downloaded it at home too. Very confusing to understand at first, but I've got the hang of it now. Quote Link to comment
