+Jamie Z Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Ok.. what about Garmin? Seems that most folks I've met pronounce it with a hard 'G', but when I first saw the name, I pronounced it with a soft 'G', cuz I knew a guy named Garmin, and he pronounced it like Jar-men. Jamie Quote
+barondriver Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 didja kow that GARMIN is the first 3 letters of the men who started Garmin.. GAR is Gary (Gary Burrell)and MIN is Min (Min Kao). Gar sounds like Car and min sounds like chin.. Quote

hgmonaro Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 in my part of the world, "cache" is not pronounced like "cash" (which sounds like 'gash') The a is pronounced 'ay' and the h like 'sh' to get 'kay-sh' (all said together) This turns into 'geo-kay-shing' phew, Aussies will understand.. I think! Quote
