+Xris
The first one has been found once, it took the finder about two hours. It's a micro, and is very well hidden. Not to give much away to anyone in my area reading this, but the terrain aproaching the cache is extremely easy. Retrieving the cache is hard and may not be possible for some. I've got it at a 3 difficulty and 2 terrain The second one is a multi which spans about 500-600 on foot. It has three parts. The first part is fairly difficult. It took the ftf 40 minutes to find this part. It took him an hour and ten minutes to find the rest. The second container is a micro, and not easy but it isn't hard either. The final container is a standard ammo box with camo tape on it. It's hidden in some thorny vines. I've got it at a 3 difficult and 1.5 terrain. What do you think? Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
Knowing what you have just revealed, I don't think I would look for either one . . . However, if retrieving the cache is not "possible for some" then it is probably a 4 or 5. If the last one is hidden in some thorny vines, it is probably more than a 1.5 terrain. +briansnat
The definition for 3 star difficulty is: *** Challenging. An experienced cache hunter will find this challenging, and it could take up a good portion of an afternoon. So it looks like you're pretty close as far as difficulty. Here are all the defs: Difficulty rating: * Easy. In plain sight or can be found in a few minutes of searching. ** Average. The average cache hunter would be able to find this in less than 30 minutes of hunting. *** Challenging. An experienced cache hunter will find this challenging, and it could take up a good portion of an afternoon. **** Difficult. A real challenge for the experienced cache hunter - may require special skills or knowledge, or in-depth preparation to find. May require multiple days / trips to complete. ***** Extreme. A serious mental or physical challenge. Requires specialized knowledge, skills, or equipment to find cache. Terrain rating: * Handicapped accessible. (Terrain is likely to be paved, is relatively flat, and less than a 1/2 mile hike is required.) ** Suitable for small children. (Terrain is generally along marked trails, there are no steep elevation changes or heavy overgrowth. Less than a 2 mile hike required.) *** Not suitable for small children. (The average adult or older child should be OK depending on physical condition. Terrain is likely off-trail. May have one or more of the following: some overgrowth, some steep elevation changes, or more than a 2 mile hike.) **** Experienced outdoor enthusiasts only. (Terrain is probably off-trail. Will have one or more of the following: very heavy overgrowth, very steep elevation (requiring use of hands), or more than a 10 mile hike. May require an overnight stay.) ***** Requires specialized equipment and knowledge or experience, (boat, 4WD, rock climbing, SCUBA, etc) or is otherwise extremely difficult. Quote Link to comment
