  1. acronym = a bit "cheeky," but imo okay (pun intended) cache title = a bit much
  2. I've an idea for travel bug, which is a letter for a friend of mine. I'd laminate a sealed envelope as the TB or use a plastic fake envelope or something similar and send it to the persons city, asking people to place stamps on it as it makes its way there. What do you think?
  3. As for a diamond ring, let's not get too carried away right now. So far, for the menu, I've got the following: Prosciutto Wrapped Cantaloupe Sun dried tomato bruschetta Chicken Pasta Salad Cherry Almond or Butterscotch Biscotti She loves italian food. I've been wanting to cook for her for some time. There seems to be something missing from my selection.
  4. Very good idea. I think I'll do that. I'll have the first coordinates lead to the picnic, then the second lead to the kiss, letter, and some flowers. I can only have one redirector as we usually have only an hour or so. Keep any other ideas coming. I have until tomorrow night to come up with ideas.
  5. My girlfriend and I are going to a local park on Thursday. It's fairly warm around here during the day, about 70*. Anyway, while we're having our picnic, I thought it would be nice to finally take her geocaching. She's been wanting to go for some time. The thing is, there are no caches in this park. So, I'd have to hide one. It wouldn't ever be listed on this site, because I don't feel like keeping up with one, so it would be just for her. So far, I've decided to hide a letter for her, that is written using the geocache "you've found it" format. It'll look like the stash note, but actually be a romantic letter. The other thing I've thought is placing a Hershey's Kiss inside as well. The thought being that if she wants to take a kiss, she has to leave a kiss (for me obviously). It would be hidden no more than 30 minutes before she got there, so there's no need to worry about animals/insects. What else should I put inside? I'm sure I'll think of other things, but I thought getting some help from you guys wouldn't hurt. The entire picnic/geocaching trip is to be a surprise. Lately, we've been meeting at my place for lunch. It's close to her office and there aren't any real restaurants nearby. I thought I'd change things up a bit.
  6. I've been given permission to place a single geocache at a lake. The problem I'm facing is, that the park has an entry fee. There are picnic tables and bbq pits and some decent fishing at the lake, which is more than worth the fee, but to some, going out for one cache may not be worth it. So, how do I make this a very fun cache? It is against the rules to swim at the lake, so submerging it is out, and I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to hide a multi or not. I'm going to have to ask the land manager about that.
  7. The first one has been found once, it took the finder about two hours. It's a micro, and is very well hidden. Not to give much away to anyone in my area reading this, but the terrain aproaching the cache is extremely easy. Retrieving the cache is hard and may not be possible for some. I've got it at a 3 difficulty and 2 terrain The second one is a multi which spans about 500-600 on foot. It has three parts. The first part is fairly difficult. It took the ftf 40 minutes to find this part. It took him an hour and ten minutes to find the rest. The second container is a micro, and not easy but it isn't hard either. The final container is a standard ammo box with camo tape on it. It's hidden in some thorny vines. I've got it at a 3 difficult and 1.5 terrain. What do you think?
  8. I don't think Zanfel would work for Ecszema, since it's only supposed to remove the poison ivy oils. I don't mean to sound like an ad for Zanfel, but they promise relief in 30 seconds, and it is completely true. I first got poison ivy maybe four or five weeks ago, and bought some Zanfel a few days later. I rubbed it on and I didn't itch one bit. I got re-exposed a few days later and got it all over. I ran out of Zanfel, and I'm not going to buy another tube. I only have a few spots left and it's not worth the $40 for a new tube, unless I get it again. Why do I cache at night? I'm a college student, and the summer's just begun. I sleep most of the day, and have become quite nocturnal. I'll be starting a summer job soon, so I have to get in as much fun and sleep as possible.
  9. I've had a poison ivy rash for weeks upon end. I keep caching at night, and I almost always touch poison ivy every night. If it weren't for Zanfel, I'd probably just die. I'm too addicted to caching to stop though, it is the only thing that takes my mind off of the scratching though. I hate geocaching.
  10. I mean somone setting up a cache for someone to find, the cachers go and they shoot you, or you lift up a rock and a bomb goes off. It could be a movie . . .
  11. I guess with the geocachers frequenting the area, it was easier to place time of death. It's just been a fear of mine that maybe a cache is some kind of death trap, you know? I'm sure we've all thought of that.
  12. I've just discovered geocaching. Actually, I heard about it once before and thought it would be boring and never thought of it again, until I stumbled onto this webpage a few days ago and fell in love with it. I've only been on a few hunts, but I've already got plans to make a few of my own. So here's my idea: I live in a suburb of Austin and San Antonio, and travel to and from quite regularly. It's about a hundred mile trip, if you're not familiar with TX. I'm thinking about making a multi with like 10 parts or so, with lots of riddles and maybe some math. Maybe even make it a one time only, with a cash cache. What do you guys think? I'd keep the whole thing down to just a day. Is it too ridiculous?
  13. Do you think the woman was a geocacher herself?
